Lyrics

Protest protest
Got to get my protest
Little piggy dies and the poor little cows in the houses
Packed in everybody's starvin'
Everybody's dyin' but nobody is wondering
Big shot
Cheap shot
Everybody's got a shot
Nobody has got a lot 'cept the ones who say they've not
So what guess what
I've got a dream
I've got a message and I know what it means

I can only hear myself sing
To hear my own voices going around and round and round and round
Where all of us try to become
Only here to hear myself sing
Do you hear your own voices going around and round and round and round
Where all of us fall into one

Friction faction
Got a gut reaction
Gotta pick a side
What side are you on?
Don't you know,
I'm guilty, hypocrite, cruelty
I could be a man that cries and cries and cries and tries
When I see the blood and the pain
And the pain and the innocent
The shame oh the shame
Oh but so what, guess what
I've got a dream
It doesn't matter 'cause I know what it means

I can only hear myself sing
To hear my own voices going around and round and round and round
Where all of us try to become
Only here to hear myself sing
Do you hear your own voices going around and round and round and round
Where all of us fall into one

For every time you think of me
Forever changing time.

Smile! Said the Miniature Candles to the Fireplace, but the Fireplace had nothing to smile about. Long had gone the time when he was the life and soul of the room, when people turned to him for warmth and comfort. Now he was just a trophy. A decoration. Something nice to look at. "There's no need to be so miserable. Put things into perspective" said the Sunflowers Print hanging above the Stereo. "At least you are your own being, I'm just a copy of someone else's. I've never even met an artist let alone Van Go". "Van Gogh" Corrected the Carpet. "Vincent Van Gogh. But if you want to talk about perspective, then what about me! I'm so flat I've never even seen myself!" All the Miniature Candles started to laugh, "You should hear yourselves, a bunch of miserable old household appliances. You don't know how lucky you've got it. Up until yesterday we had been living in a warehouse in a Tiny Bag surrounded by other Miniature Candles in Tiny Bags, surrounded by hundreds upon hundreds of Flat Pack Cupboards. Do you how annoying those Flat Packs can be?" There was a mumbling of oh yes's and sighs of agreement from the rest the room. "Well" They continued, "then have a Chestnut". "Have a Chestnut!" Said the Stereo. "Is that your argument? Is that what you are all arguing about? Have a Chestnut because someone else has it a lot worse! That's the argument that should make us all smile? Bullshit! I don't feel happy because I'm not just a Tape Player. I know that one day CD's will become like the Fireplace except that people wont want keep them just to look at. And when that happens, what about me?! What will my purpose be!? Ten years in the attic and then the skip". "Me Me Me Me. You're always thinking about yourself", said the Couch.
"FOOL" replied the Stereo..........
"I like it here" giggled one of the Miniature Candles to another. "Yes, they're a funny bunch aren't they, look at that Lamp by the Window, it keeps on winking, and look at that Door Handle. I've never seen anything so ugly in my whole life. Do you think it's an Antique?" "Sssssh, don't even say that word. In fact, don't even think it". In thinking about not thinking they returned to the ongoing argument between the Stereo and the Couch. .... "You better watch it, he seems to be into Leather in a big way" "Ooooh" Cried the spectators. The Couch was getting flustered. "Aren't those I Pods so beautiful, so small and cute, so convenient, and so cheap now too. They really are amazing. No wonder everyone wants one". "Ouch" Went the Lamp. "That was below the belt". The Miniature Candles chuckled to themselves knowingly. "Right. Enough is enough" interrupted the Fireplace. "I'm leaving!" And with great strength he heaved himself off the wall, scattering the Miniature Candles all over the carpet in the process, and headed to the door. "Wait for me!" Cried the Sunflowers Print. "I might be a copy but I know I can be a good companion"
So out into the big wide world went the Fireplace and the Sunflowers Print
"It's a big place isn't it? What shall we do first?"
"Let's eat some clouds"

Me Me Me Lyrics

Spoken in French
End of the night
Taking a cab home through the blue orange light
Where the cars talk in whispers
The bakeries claim for the air
How I wish I could stay
But I was never there

Watching TV
Mute button on
Watching a man talking about something wrong
He's in his late sixties
He speaks with his hands
His glance always looks to the left but I cant look beyond...

How I try to wake but the moment I wake up
I see something I made up
Why?
Give me somebody else's eyes

You pick on the loneliest people
You pick out the loneliest world
And you stand for no-one
And you stand like her
But I try to release her
I try to forget you
But down in the long gaze
Just great
But I am king and I
You say there's something on the ****

Here are my faults
I am a man
What could I do?
Don't want to know if I can
Build buildings and rescue
Sow seeds with my hands
I've come here to look far away
But I can't look beyond...

How I try to wake but the moment I wake up
I see something I made up
Why?
Give me somebody else's eyes

You pick on the loneliest people
You pick out the loneliest world
And you stand for no-one
And you stand like her
But I try to release her
I try to forget you
But down in the long gaze
Just great
But I am king and I
There's something ****
There's something on the ****

Down in the long gaze just waiting for her
Down in the long gaze just
The long gaze
Just great

To Get Love Returned

I've got to get it to get it together
I've got to get it to stay on time
Forget it forget it
You wont take me down
Down down
Down to where the soldiers line up
With the beggars that leap frog this cold cold heart.
This rut you can keep

I've come to say
To show, display
To smile, to laugh
To do anything that you ask

Just don't call me Simon
I'm the next Rocketman
Don't call me Peter or Paul
Never John from Birmingham

You're so convinced
You're wrong
You're so bad I can't tell
Somebody said?
Well somebody lied
You've not a chance
You haven't got a hope in hell

But I know what's inside of me
And I wont give up, I wont give up
You will see

Just don't call me Simon
I'm the next Rocketman
Don't call me Peter or Paul
Never John from Birmingham

I'm the Rocket, I'm the Rocketman

It looks like this brother could make it round
You may get down, you make it round today

I am I am I am

About the Project

Wherever your creativity lies, we want you to complete the second album. Whether you are a Singer, Guitarist, Pianist, Poet, DJ, Producer or Shoemaker - we want to hear how you think it should sound.

From here you can download, for free, the second album demos and also all their individual tracks (guitars, vocals, strings, synths, drums etc.) to help make your own versions of how you hear the songs.

Whether you want to completely re-record everything from scratch, replace the vocals and lyrics with your own, add recordings onto what is already there or make a remix - it´s up to you.

We will then compile our favourite mixes from all the versions emailed in to us to make the final album, and share 50% of our personal royalties that come from its release with those who have contributed towards the making of it.

(Read more about that in Terms and Conditions and What I Can Get Out Of It)

F.A.Q. My home recording setup isn't brilliant. How impairing would it be to the ideas I send in?

Your ideas wont be judged on the way they were recorded. What matters to us at this moment in time is that you just put them down and send them in by whatever means you have at your disposal. If we need to re-record your ideas for sound quality purposes at a later date then we have the equipment here to do that for you.

F.A.Q.'s

This page will be updated as and when questions become frequently asked.

2. Do we have to use the tracks that you have supplied, or can we do an entirely fresh recording?

You can do whatever you want with the songs. Whether you want to completely re record everything from scratch, add recordings onto what is already there or make a remix - it´s up to you.

3. I´m having trouble downloading the files, can you help?

Yes. If you come across any problems just send us an email to dogsdieinhotcars.album2@gmail.com and we´ll get onto it right away for you.

4. I would like to contribute I but dont have a music editor. Is there a free one I can download and use to make my masterpieces?

Yes. It´s called Audacity and you can download it here. It´s very good and it´s also cross platform.

5. Is there a deadline?

The intention is that a deadline will be set of 6 months after the date when all 16 demos have been uploaded.
